Job summary

State of California, Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Office of Legal Services (OLS), Program Integrity and Compliance Branch (PICB) seeks an Attorney to join its administrative litigation team. You will handle a caseload, prepare witnesses, review evidence, and represent DHCS in OAHA and OAH hearings.

This role offers telework within California, with Sacramento office options. HAM salary applies and robust benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Experience representing clients in litigation before administrative, state, and/or federal courts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and editing legal documents including regulations and notices.
• Ability to conduct legal research and writing under short deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload in administrative litigation under supervision.
• Prepare witnesses and review evidence (cost reports, audit reports, medical records).
• Represent DHCS in hearings before OAHA and OAH.
• Collaborate with the Attorney General’s Office on writ petitions and other actions.
