Job summary

Optima Medical Management Group is seeking a Learning Specialist to design and deliver engaging, high-impact training across the organization. You will facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and blended programs, partnering with SMEs to align content with organizational goals.

You'll lead onboarding and required training (DHCS and health plan) and provide coaching, assessments, and performance support. Travel to other sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Education, Healthcare, Communications, Behavioral Health, or related field.
  • Experience in training delivery, onboarding and workforce development.
  • Valid California driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance required.
  • Experience in healthcare, managed care, behavioral health, public health, or community-based services preferred.
  • Familiarity with ECM, CS, BH preferred.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or training platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and hybrid learning programs across the organization.
  • Deliver onboarding, DHCS and health plan required training for compliance, and ongoing recurring or refresher training.
  • Create engaging learning environments that encourage participation, collaboration, and knowledge retention.
  • Adapt facilitation techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and audiences.
  • Manage classroom dynamics and address participant questions effectively.
  • Ensure a consistent and high-quality learner experience across all training programs.
  • Assess learner understanding through observations, discussions, assessments, and activities.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to learners.
  • Reinforce learning through follow-up sessions, and performance support resources.
  • Assist with pilot programs and gather learner feedback for improvements.
  • Support the rollout of new learning initiatives and organizational change programs.
  • Ensure content is delivered consistently and in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Ensure training materials, job aids, and resources are prepared and current.
  • Identify learning gaps and recommend additional development opportunities.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to ensure learning content remains accurate and relevant.
  • Analyze learner feedback, training metrics, and performance outcomes.
  • Support with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to administer and update courses.
  • Gather learner feedback and recommend enhancements.
  • Confirm scheduling, logistics, and coordination of training events.
  • Assist in the development and revision of curricula, facilitator guides, job aids, eLearning modules, and competency assessments.
  • Create and send post-training reports to department leadership to inform them of learner progress or concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
