Job summary

Sanford is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen when the Dietary Supervisor is absent. The role requires preparing meals, following menus and documenting temperatures for large-scale dining in a hospital or long-term care setting.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least one year in a hospital cook role, and a valid ServSafe certificate; PCC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures for meals; assist with serving and cleaning.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietician Supervisor and coordinate with other departments.
