Job summary

Greater Health Now seeks an IT Intern to provide entry-level technical support, assist with help desk, hardware/software setup, and IT administration under supervision. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a healthcare environment, including HIPAA practices and data privacy.

You'll help with imaging and deploying devices, inventory, account setup for new hires, and basic system maintenance. Team collaboration and learning are encouraged in this part-time intern role.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or previously completed, a program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• No professional experience required; coursework or personal projects are a plus.
• Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/macOS), and networking concepts.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to staff requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, printer, and network connectivity issues.
• Escalate complex issues with clear, accurate documentation.
• Assist with setting up, imaging, and deploying computers, phones, and peripherals.
• Help maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
• Support new-hire and offboarding account setup under supervision.
• Assist with routine updates, patching, and system maintenance.
• Log tickets and track resolution status in the ticketing system.
• Create and update simple how-to guides and knowledge base articles.
• Assist with data collection and reporting for IT projects and metrics.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and IT projects.
• Follow organizational policies on data privacy, security, and confidentiality, including HIPAA.
