Job summary

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Commack, NY is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for the DAY SHIFT 8AM-4PM which includes EVERY WEEKEND to deliver a clean, safe environment for residents.

Responsibilities include cleaning assigned areas, using proper sanitizing methods, and maintaining equipment. Prior hospital or nursing home experience preferred; ability to follow instructions and work standing for long periods is required.

Qualifications

• Duties include keeping assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, using germicides.
• Candidate must have the ability to use equipment and keep it neat and clean according to department requirements.
• Candidates with experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
• Knowledge of the dementia population and dealing with related behaviors.
• Understands written and oral instruction.
• Understands and absorbs new work methods.
• Capable of completing schedules effectively.Capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods.
