Job summary

Gurwin Healthcare System, set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, is seeking a full-time temporary Housekeeper for the Evening shift (3:00 PM–11:15 PM) to help provide a safe, clean, resident-centered environment.

The role requires experience in hospital or nursing home cleaning, ability to follow written and oral instructions, and stamina to stand and walk for long periods. Evening shift with rotating weekends; salary competitive.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care, including stripping, waxing and buffing in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
• Candidates with experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
• Knowledge of the dementia population and dealing with related behaviors.
• Understands written and oral instruction.
• Understands and absorbs new work methods.
• Capable of completing schedules effectively.
• Capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Duties include keeping assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, using germicides.
• Candidate must have the ability to use equipment and keep it neat and clean according to department requirements.

EVENING SHIFT 3:00PM-11:00PM with ROTATING WEEKENDS (every other Saturday and Sunday)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
