Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Brooklyn Heights is seeking an experienced accounting professional to perform complex financial reporting and analysis. You will prepare monthly statements, reconciliations, and audit schedules to support the system and related entities.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting with at least four years of financial accounting experience, plus strong Excel and communication skills. CPA is preferred; healthcare accounting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with at least four years of financial accounting experience.
• At least two years public accounting or financial reporting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate or higher).
• Strong presentation, written, and oral communication skills with a diplomatic approach.
• Ability to function at a high level in a demanding environment.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results with attention to detail.
• Willing to work additional hours during month-end close as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs accounting functions with a high level of complexity including timely reporting, monthly financial analysis, reconciliations, and audit schedules.
• Supports the System and related entities’ financial statements.
• Evaluates and informs management with recommendations for improvement and implements changes where applicable.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
