Montefiore Health System, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the monthly and year-end close, perform account analyses, and prepare financial schedules and reports. The role emphasizes accurate reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The Staff Accountant will manage accruals, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and audits while ensuring internal controls and proper documentation. Priority is precision, timeliness, and confidentiality.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 1-3 years accounting or finance experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Access.
• Knowledge/experience with SAP or other major accounting systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Strong problem solving, urgency, and accuracy.
• Flexible and adaptable; maintain confidentiality.
• Collaborates effectively with MMC departments.

Mansioni

• Own monthly expense accrual analysis and reporting by preparing and reconciling expense-related general ledger accounts.
• Execute recurring and non-recurring accrual journal entries, close schedules, and perform variances analysis.
• Investigate and explain unusual fluctuations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform monthly balance sheet analysis, investigate variances and reconcile items.
• Share clear findings with management and business partners.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Reconcile the fixed asset ledger and support capital project accounting and reporting.
• Support intercompany accounting activities, including intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and maintain internal controls.
• Ensure transactions are properly coded per accounting policies.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve questions and improve processes.
