The MetroHealth System in Brooklyn Heights is seeking a Grants Accountant to maintain and monitor the financial aspects of federal, state, and locally funded grants.

You will oversee complex grant accounting, prepare monthly analyses and audit schedules, and ensure compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance and local regulations while supporting the system's mission and financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• 2 years of financial accounting experience.
• Proficient with MS Office with intermediate Excel.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8am-5pm

Summary

Maintains/monitors the financial aspects of various Federal, State, and locally-funded grants and contracts awarded to The MetroHealth System. Oversees the fiscal operations of grants with a higher degree of complexity and volume while ensuring compliance with Federal (e.g., the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Uniform Guidance rules), State, and/or local regulations. Performs accounting duties, completes monthly financial analyses, and prepares audit schedules in support of financial statements with immediate levels of complexity. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• 2 years of financial accounting experience.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of software products, with a minimum of intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to use a diplomatic approach with customers.
• Able to function at a high level in a demanding environment.
• Willing and able to work additional hours as needed and approved by management (i.e. during the month-end close process).

Preferred

• Currently a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Experience working in an Accounting capacity in the Healthcare industry.
• Experience with financial grant reporting, including knowledge of current regulations from the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Physical Requirements

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
• May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
