Job summary

Washington County Hospital and Nursing Home is seeking a Controller/Chief Financial Officer to oversee the financial operations of the facility, ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The role supports budgeting, billing, cost reporting, auditing, and financial analysis, with emphasis on GAAP/GASB principles and robust internal controls.

The position involves month-end closes, internal and external audits, and leadership of cost accounting and finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; master's preferred.
• 5–7 years progressive accounting experience.
• Healthcare/hospital accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/GASB, budgeting, and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze financial records and statements per GAAP/GASB.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile accounts monthly.
• Drive budget preparation and monitor revenues and expenses.
• Own internal and external audits and cost reports with documentation.
• Analyze, consolidate, and direct cost accounting procedures.
• Maintain and update financial databases and accounting systems.
• Lead finance-based projects.
