Job summary

Homeland Talent Solutions partnered with a community-focused Critical Access Hospital in Southwest Washington to hire a Controller to lead its accounting function and work closely with the CFO. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controller or senior accounting leader to take on broader ownership, visibility, and leadership.

The Controller will oversee core accounting operations, manage a three-person team, and serve as a key financial partner to hospital leadership.

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting experience with responsibility for financial reporting, GL, month-end close.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Proven experience leading accounting professionals or teams.
• Ability to work onsite and manage a team in a hospital setting.
• CPA or other advanced credential preferred.
• Healthcare accounting experience is a plus.
• Sage Intacct or Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, GL, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Oversee financial reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, controls, and recurring reports.
• Lead and develop a three-person accounting team (Senior Accountant, AP Specialist, Payroll Specialist).
• Prepare reports and materials for executive leadership and Board presentations.
• Partner with department leaders to address financial questions and variances.
• Collaborate with the CFO on close processes and broader finance initiatives.
• Support hospital-specific accounting needs, including Medicare cost reports.
