Job summary

PatientCare EMS is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations across a growing, multi-entity healthcare organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will oversee the close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, internal controls, treasury support, audits and accounting-system improvements.

The ideal candidate has three to five years as a Controller for healthcare with about $300–$350 million in annual revenue and can operate strategically while remaining close

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Three to five years of Controller experience in healthcare.
• Strong healthcare accounting experience, including revenue recognition.
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-state operations.
• Experience leading a lean accounting team.
• Automation exposure in the close process.
• Experience with IBNR and insurance-related accruals.
• NetSuite implementation or major optimization experience.
• Experience in a private-equity environment.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP (ASC 606, ASC 842).

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close across multiple entities, producing GAAP-compliant statements.
• Maintain and improve a 10-business-day close cycle.
• Oversee healthcare revenue recognition and third-party reimbursement timing.
• Review IBNR accruals for self-insured and other programs.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Lead accounting team of fewer than 10 employees across AP, AR, payroll and revenue accounting.
• Build AP approval hierarchy and payment workflows.
• Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes.
• Lead NetSuite implementation/configuration and data migration.
• Oversee fixed-asset, capital projects and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Manage consolidated reporting for multi-entity operations.
• Prepare weekly cash-flow reporting and assist with liquidity planning.
• Lead the annual budgeting process with operational leaders.
• Prepare management reporting packages and ad hoc financial reporting.
• Coordinate year-end audits and lender/tax/audits.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
• Collaborate with brokers, actuaries and auditors on risk-management initiatives.
• Support acquisitions and post-acquisition integration.
• Collaborate with billing/revenue-cycle teams for accurate reimbursement accounting.
