Job summary

The Planet Group in Destin, FL is seeking an experienced Plumber to perform installation and maintenance of plumbing systems, including pipes, sinks, traps, and drains. The role emphasizes compliance with codes and high workmanship standards within a research facility environment.

Responsibilities include repairs, backflow preventer maintenance, and coordinating with staff to minimize disruption. An immediate start is expected, with a DBA-covered position and M-F shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in healthcare facilities.
• Florida backflow preventer certification.
• NFPA 99 training per NFPA 99 standard.
• State plumbing license required.
• ICC journeyman/master certification exam.
• Military journeyman level experience accepted if not licensed.
• Knowledge of NFPA 99 healthcare facility systems.
• Proficient with plumbing hand tools and pipe fitting.
• OSHA 10 General Industry Safety training.
• Ability to read and follow building codes.

Responsibilities

• Handle pipe systems for water, steam, waste, and related systems.
• Repair and install plumbing equipment and fixtures.
• Maintain grease traps and oil/gas separators.
• Certify and maintain backflow preventers.
• Complete PM/CM work tickets and records.
• Respond to emergencies as needed.
• Read architectural/mechanical drawings and manufacturer literature.
• Coordinate inspections and minimize disruption to operations.
• Train staff on plumbing practices and safety procedures.
