Job summary

Roseville Care Center is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team full time. You will perform routine maintenance across the facility, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry, and general handyman tasks to keep our environment safe, functional, clean, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general building maintenance.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of plumbing and plumbing repairs.
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to perform minor electrical maintenance.
• Painting, patching, and general facility upkeep experience.
• General handyman skills and the ability to troubleshoot and complete routine repairs.
• Previous maintenance, facilities, construction, or building repair experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize assignments.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate professionally and work respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
• High school education or equivalent preferred; minimum education of 10th grade required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general handyman tasks.
• Maintain facility grounds, parking areas, sidewalks, and driveways through cleaning, sweeping, trimming, and general upkeep.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and follow established maintenance schedules.
• Replace light bulbs, maintain lighting fixtures, and assist with basic equipment repairs.
• Assist with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance as directed and within your training.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and needed repairs.
• Maintain facility equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies in a clean and organized manner.
• Follow all safety procedures and infection control practices.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with nursing staff to minimize disruptions to residents.
