Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a maintenance professional to perform routine to skilled preventive maintenance on building, equipment, and facilities in a hospital environment. Roles include electrical, plumbing, welding, and mechanical tasks with a focus on minimizing disruption to patient care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1 year of general maintenance experience, with 1–3 years preferred. Benefits are available for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year general maintenance experience required.
• 1 to 3 years general maintenance experience preferred.
• Hospital or healthcare facility maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation.
• Maintains routine records and determines type and extent of malfunction.
• Performs a variety of general–to–skilled maintenance including electrical, plumbing, welding and mechanical tasks.
• Services heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems to ensure design efficiency and occupant comfort.
• Performs routine manual duties and moves supplies and equipment as needed.
