Garden City Health Care Center is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to join our team, ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff. The position offers hourly pay of $17.50–$18.00, alignment with facility procedures, and opportunities to grow maintenance skills within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in maintenance, facilities, or building repair preferred.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and grounds maintenance is helpful.
• Ability to use tools, equipment, and supplies safely and appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Follow preventive-maintenance schedules, daily assignments, and department procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, plastering, painting, mechanical systems, and general facility upkeep.
• Maintain facility grounds, parking areas, walkways, and driveways.
• Inspect the facility and equipment for damage or safety hazards.
• Report equipment breakdowns and maintenance concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Replace burned-out light bulbs and clean windows, equipment, and maintenance areas.
• Assist with servicing heating and cooling systems per manufacturer instructions.
• Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance assignments as directed.
