Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Facilities team. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a Texas driver's license, and at least three years of carpentry experience in a commercial, institutional, or healthcare setting.

This role works under minimal supervision to provide general level skills in performance of carpentry work. We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of door hardware, proficiency in using power

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational training.
• 3 years skilled or journeyman carpentry in a commercial, institutional, or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of door hardware; proficiency with large power tools; basic computer skills; effective communication; ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Preferred: Journeyman license; union training; healthcare/campus carpentry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry work in alteration, construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings or building parts.
• Remove and replace hardware; install linoleum, floor tiles, ceilings, or window glass as needed.
• Maintain and repair saws/tools; perform preventive maintenance.
• Assist in time and material records for each job.
• May supervise craft trainees and maintenance workers.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
