Job summary

Exalt Health Rehabilitation Hospital Sarasota, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure a safe, functional environment in our inpatient rehabilitation facility. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building systems, while supporting specialized rehabilitation equipment and complying with safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in general maintenance, preferably healthcare or regulated setting.
• Experience in hospital or rehabilitation setting is a plus.
• Proven proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building repair.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical schematics.
• Familiarity with power tools and common maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and medical gas systems.
• Diagnose and repair carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and drywall issues.
• Assist with installation and safe operation of rehabilitation equipment.
• Respond to work orders, prioritize tasks, and document work completed.
• Adhere to hospital safety regulations and infection control protocols.
• Help manage maintenance supplies and inventory.
• Collaborate with facilities, clinical staff, and leadership.
