Job summary

The Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, Facilities Management Service, seeks a Maintenance Worker assigned to the Engineering Service to support general maintenance duties for the medical center. Duties include assisting journeymen with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and millwork.

With emphasis on safe, precise work, you will read blueprints and apply standard procedures to diagnose and complete repairs in a busy hospital

Qualifications

• No formal minimum experience required, but must show training/experience adequate for the duties.
• Qualifications are evaluated using OPM standards for Federal Wage System.
• Screen-out element applies; applicants meeting minimum requirements proceed to further rating.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeymen with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, and millwork components; read blueprints and specs.
• Plan and complete projects/work orders with appropriate materials and methods.
• Perform inspections and document deficiencies and repairs.
