Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold a safe, reliable facility environment supporting patient care at White Memorial Hospital in Monticello, IN. Typical shift is Monday–Friday 7am–3:30pm with rotating weekends/on call.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, and coordinating improvements with other departments to ensure code compliance and patient safety. A high school diploma and at least 2 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
Must have at least 2 years relevant experience.
May require Indiana driver's license with proof of insurance.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire and air systems.
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of healthcare building codes is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting/repairing secondary utility systems of buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical and air systems.
Maintains, repairs and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements.
Recommends improvements to facilities, equipment and systems to meet patient care needs.
Coordinates functions with other services and departments.
Performs routine building and grounds inspections.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
