Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance of facility systems. This role performs advanced maintenance, repairs, and installations across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing domains, with hospital-specific equipment knowledge.

The engineer responds to urgent issues, may supervise entry-level engineers, and supports operational efficiency of the hospital.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or formal training in facility maintenance or mechanical systems
• 2-4 years of facilities maintenance or related experience
• 3-5 years in facilities maintenance/engineering in healthcare preferred
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas)
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Must be able to comply with safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems and hospital equipment
• Responds to work requests and urgent calls promptly and professionally
• Ensures maintenance activities meet safety regulations and hospital standards
• Addresses urgent repair requests to minimize disruption to operations
• Performs regular inspections and maintains hospital infrastructure
• Keeps detailed maintenance logs and records for reporting
• Assists with budgeting and ordering maintenance supplies and parts
• Maintains attendance and compliance with policies
