Job summary

Great River Health in Fort Madison, IA is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician with carpentry and basic mechanical skills to perform healthcare facility upkeep, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related tasks. You will read work orders and coordinate with team to ensure safe, clean, and functional environments.

The role requires ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff, valid driver’s license, and 1–3 years experience in carpentry or maintenance.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years carpentry experience preferred.
• 1–3 years basic maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC.
• Valid driver’s license required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate, clean, repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Prepare work sites to eliminate hazards.
• Repair and install plumbing fixtures and lighting fixtures.
• Read work orders and input data into CMMS database.
• Repair and assemble office furniture and fixtures.
• Read gauges and operate building control systems for HVAC and hydronic systems.
• Repair electrical equipment and outlets.
