Job summary
Essentia Health is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of our healthcare facilities. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems to support patient care.
You will troubleshoot equipment issues, respond to service calls, and maintain documentation within a CMMS, while collaborating with clinical and support teams to plan improvements that boost comfort, efficiency, and compliance across the campus.
Qualifications
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems in healthcare or similar environments.
- Ability to read schematics/blueprints and use diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with safety, Joint Commission and OSHA standards in healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and urgent service calls to minimize downtime in patient care areas.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment using manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Operate and monitor building automation, emergency power, and life safety systems for reliability.
- Document work in the CMMS, including parts used, labor time, and history.
