Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, White River Junction Healthcare System, is hiring full-time Housekeeping Aid/EVS technicians to maintain clean and safe patient areas.

You will perform light and heavy cleaning duties across wards, rooms, and facilities, addressing spills promptly and supporting infection control standards. These positions require the ability to work with minimal supervision and flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience demonstrated by training or work demonstrating ability to perform housekeeping duties.
• Qualifications will be evaluated under the OPM Federal Wage System standards; screen-out element may apply.

Responsibilities

• The Housekeeping Aid (HKA)/EVS Technicians maintain VA facilities for Veterans and their families.
• Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning and routine housekeeping duties.
• Keep patient areas clean and safe by addressing spills quickly and discarding trash.
• Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms and other areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub floors; vacuum carpets and upholstery; clean light fixtures and blinds; wash walls and windows.
• Move furniture as needed and refill tissue and towel dispensers; work with minimal supervision.
