Job summary

Highmark Health invites undergraduate students to join the Summer 2027 Enterprise Risk Strategy Internship, gaining hands-on exposure to enterprise risk management, governance, compliance, and strategic planning within a major healthcare system.

Interns collaborate with risk professionals and leaders to support risk reporting, analyses, and governance activities while building skills in data management, presentation, and strategic thinking for healthcare operations.

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Health Informatics, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Information Security, or related discipline.
• Intern will develop professional skills in risk reporting, governance, and strategic initiatives.
• Ability to support risk assessments, data reporting, and executive-facing materials.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in planning assignments and resolving issues.
• Under supervision, provide entry-level professional services aligned with day-to-day objectives.
• Participate in projects to develop professional skills for the organization.
• Assist in planning and implementing unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise.
• Conduct research and reporting with recommendations for action as requested by management.
• Engage in enrichment programs to meet specific unit objectives.
