Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. You will perform cleaning tasks in patient rooms, hallways, and public areas following infection control and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include waste removal, floor cleaning, and operating cleaning equipment. You may assist in laundry areas and must be able to work a day shift with potential overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax or polish floors and operate cleaning equipment.
• Follow infection control, safety and procedural guidelines.
• Assist in the laundry areas as appropriate.
