Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas. This full-time day shift role requires attention to infection control, safety guidelines and quality cleaning practices to support a healthy facility.

Responsibilities include floor care, waste management, restrooms, lobbies, and common areas; using cleaning equipment as needed; assisting in laundry; and following PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and methods is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks on floors, rooms, lobbies, restrooms, and more.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Use PPE and manage supplies; may operate cleaning equipment.
