Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas, following infection control and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, waste, using mop or waxing machines; PPE; assist in laundry; may use technology apps; work hours vary per patient needs.

Position is full-time day shift, with a 40-hour week and potential overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer is helpful.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks: empty waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing floors, use of mops or powered scrubbing/waxing machines.
• Wear proper PPE and keep storage, equipment and carts clean and stocked.
• Assist in laundry areas and use technology apps where available.
