Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, residents and staff. You will perform tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and using cleaning machines while adhering to infection control guidelines and safety procedures.

The role includes lifting up to 40-50 lbs, shifts on day hours, and working every other weekend and holidays as part of a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident areas and assigned spaces.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors and clean surfaces.
• Follow infection control, safety and procedural guidelines for residents and staff.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and operate cleaning equipment when needed.
