Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient/resident areas clean and safe. This full-time day shift position requires attention to infection control, safety procedures, and quality housekeeping standards across rooms, hallways, and common areas.

You will perform floor care, waste removal, and support laundry tasks as needed, with a location premium noted in benefits and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and common areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, waxing, and floor care.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines; use PPE as required.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand for most of the shift.
