Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient rooms and all hospital areas clean and sanitized, protecting patients, visitors, and staff from infectious diseases. You will perform daily cleaning tasks, operate EVS equipment, and follow PPE and infection prevention guidelines to maintain a safe environment.

Additionally, you will support facility operations and collaborate with the patient care team, applying critical thinking and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred when healthcare experience exists.
• Healthcare environment experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common spaces.
• Follows infection prevention, safety, and waste handling procedures and HIPAA guidelines.
• Operates EVS equipment and maintains cleaning carts, supplies, and work areas.
• Maintains safe chemical usage and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with the care team and supports department operations and room setups.
• Assists with facility needs such as conference rooms, stairwells, and curtain changes.
