Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health seeks an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient rooms and hospital areas clean and sanitized, protecting patients and staff from infectious diseases. Daily duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, restocking supplies, and proper disposal of biohazards.

You will follow infection prevention, safety, and HIPAA guidelines, maintain carts and EVS equipment, and collaborate with the care team to support a safe, comfortable environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform routine cleaning tasks and operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow infection prevention, safety guidelines, and HIPAA rules.
• Willingness to learn proper biohazard disposal and waste handling.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and spaces.
• Follows PPE use, hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and waste handling procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cleaning principles and proper operation of EVS equipment.
• Maintains cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment and ensures cleanliness and safety.
• Collaborates with the patient care team and communicates concerns when needed.
• Supports department operations and assists with facility tasks such as conference room setups.
