Job summary

Good Samaritan is hiring an Environmental Services Technician in Canistota, SD, to maintain a clean and safe environment in patient and resident areas. The role requires following infection control and safety guidelines, with responsibilities including waste handling, floor care, and restrooms.

Location specifics include a day shift from 5:30am to 2pm, with weekend and holiday requirements. Position offers full-time status, 40 hours weekly, and a location premium of $2.50/hr; benefits available

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least 6 months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to use computer; prior cleaning experience is helpful.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and materials is helpful.
Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident areas and common spaces.
Perform floor care: sweeping, scrubbing, waxing or polishing; use of appropriate equipment.
Wear PPE according to guidelines; keep storage and carts clean and organized.
Assist in laundry areas as appropriate; use technology tools as available.
Lift up to 40-50 lbs and be on feet for most of the shift; work varied hours including weekends/holidays.
