Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for the east side of Sioux Falls. The role involves maintaining a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas, following infection control and safety guidelines.

Expect tasks such as floor care, waste handling, and assisting in laundry as needed. Shifts are day hours, typically Monday through Friday, with potential overtime based on patient/resident needs.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience using computers for basic tasks is helpful.
• Prior housekeeping or cleaning in a healthcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
• Maintain clean and sterile environments in patient/resident areas.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Wear proper protective equipment following guidelines.
• Keep storage and equipment clean and well-stocked.
• Potentially operate cleaning technology and use of pagers as needed.
