Job summary

Good Samaritan in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for the 40-hour day shift. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe environment in patient and resident areas, following infection control procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include floor care, waste handling, and general cleaning across patient rooms, hallways and common areas. Training and a supportive team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas by following infection control and safety guidelines.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals appropriately and maintain supplies and carts in good order.
• Support in laundry areas when appropriate and assist in other duties as needed.
