Job summary

Cobalt Benefits Group in Nashville, TN is seeking an EDI Implementation Analyst to lead the full lifecycle of healthcare EDI implementations, from requirements gathering through post-production stabilization.

This role partners with clients, health plans, vendors, and internal teams to translate business needs into accurate, scalable file solutions and to ensure timely, compliant data exchange.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience supporting healthcare EDI implementations or related operations.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA X12 transactions; enrollment and claims data preferred.
• Experience gathering requirements, interpreting companion guides, and documenting mappings.
• Proven ability to develop test scenarios, validate files, reconcile data, and analyze root causes.
• Strong project coordination, organization, and communication across multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with secure file transfer, ETL concepts, SQL or data-query tools, and Visual Studio.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead EDI implementations from intake through post-production stabilization.
• Gather and document business, technical, and operational requirements with clients and stakeholders.
• Analyze companion guides, file layouts, and source data to define mappings and rules.
• Coordinate file configurations with programming and technical teams.
• Create test plans, validate test files, reconcile results, and log defects.
• Facilitate client testing, track issues, and obtain implementation approvals.
• Prepare go-live documentation and coordinate production deployment.
• Perform data reconciliation and root-cause analysis on enrollment and claims data.
• Maintain mapping specs, SOPs, and handoff materials.
• Identify opportunities to standardize practices and improve data quality.
