POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for cleaning, formatting, analyzing, and interpreting claims/outcomes/cost and other healthcare related data to support strategic decision-making and provide insights for company goals. Projects may also include financial analysis, table builds for study publications, policy analysis, and marketing support. This role requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently. The candidate should be able to interpret data to address business queries and tackle problems. This critical position will work closely with the Director, Reimbursement and Analytics, as well as other cross-functional teams to help create and support the value proposition arguments for AtriCure therapies. In addition, the Data Analyst will support a new company build-out of big data analytics housed under the Health Economics, Reimbursement, and Market Access team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • The Data Analyst will support a new company build-out of big data analytics housed under the Health Economics, Reimbursement, and Market Access team. This critical position will work closely with the Director of Reimbursement and Analytics, as well other cross-functional teams to help create and support the value proposition arguments for AtriCure therapies; and include the following:
  • Manipulate and import large datasets (Medicare, etc.) using compliant and company best practices to ensure data security
  • Clean and prepare data for analysis through merging, filtering, table builds, and other methodologies
  • Responsible for data outputs with tables, reports, flat file transfers, or cloud analysis under the direction of the Manager of Reimbursement and Data Analytics.
  • Employ statistical (SAS, SPSS) and analytical methods to assess data sets. Identify significant trends, patterns, and relationships that can inform business strategies. Implement stringent blinding per CMS guidance.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other functions (Marketing, Reimbursement, Health Economics, Biostatistics, IT) to complete data-oriented projects

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work with data in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of private payers, Medicare and Medicaid, and other insurance systems’ structures, policies & reimbursement processes
  • Must live within 45 minutes of a major airport (no relocation assistance is available)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, or economics
  • 2-3 years of experience in data analysis with proficiency in programming languages, specifically SAS and SPSS required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience working with large dataset (e.g. >100M Records)
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Healthcare coding including ICD-10, CPT, and DRG
  • Certifications such as the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate or the Microsoft Certified Data Analyst.
  • Experience in specific industries, such as medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly regulated industry
  • Proficiency in other programming languages and Statistical Software such as R and Python
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
