Job summary

Children's Health in Plano, TX is seeking a Door Tech responsible for installation and repair of door hardware within the hospital, including automatic doors and locking systems. This on-site role requires attention to safety, compliance with NFPA 80, and collaboration with facilities teams.

You will perform inspections, minor repairs, and maintenance of doors, frames, and related hardware, with a focus on reliability and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• NFPA 80 course training required within 6 months after hire.
• 1 year related experience or vocational/technical education.
• Knowledge of local and state building codes, NFPA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and replace building structures and furnishings such as doors, door hardware, frames, and cabinets.
• Repair and maintain automatic doors.
• Core doors for locking hardware installation.
• Adjust door closures and other door hardware.
• Install and maintain various door types including automatic openers and sliding glass doors.
