Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego is seeking a Data Scientist to provide advanced, integrated analytics in support of organizational objectives. You will source, manage, and analyze large, unstructured data to synthesize results for data-driven decisions.

The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to plan projects, develop predictive models, and operationalize AI solutions, including generative AI, to improve clinical and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Experience with healthcare data sources (claims, authorizations, pharmacy, provider, membership).
• Experience with statistical modeling and interpretation of complex data.
• Experience analyzing medical expenses, RAF scores, comorbidities, and quality measures.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience in R, Python, or SAS programming.
• Knowledge of SQL, ETL, data modeling, and reporting tools.
• Proficiency with Power BI or Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, integrated analytics to support organizational objectives.
• Source, manage, and analyze large amounts of unstructured data; synthesize results for data-driven decisions.
• Partner with stakeholders to plan, execute projects and produce actionable data.
• Design data models and develop machine learning models to generate insights for clinical, operational, and business users.
• Develop AI/ML solutions, including generative AI, to address needs in clinical and business areas.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and translate capabilities into practical solutions.
