Job summary

Dandelion Health AI in New York is seeking a healthcare data scientist to partner with clients, curate multimodal datasets, and lead analytics research from design to delivery. You will work on EMR, imaging, and other data types to generate real-world evidence and fast, impactful insights.

You will design studies, manage data curation strategies, and deliver robust analyses while communicating results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, Biostatistics, or equivalent with strong research background.
• Experience leading client-facing analytics projects and teams.
• Background in statistical modeling and real-world data analysis.
• Fluency in Python and SQL.
• Experience extracting, curating, and analyzing HIT/healthcare data (EMR, claims, registry) and familiarity with data standards (FHIR, CDA, CQL) and terminologies (ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED-CT, NDC, RxNorm).
• Strong technical writing, editing, and communication skills with a client-first mindset.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Startup experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to develop analytic solutions that create value and address challenges across business areas.
• Design statistical analysis plans for evidence generation projects, including methodology and dataset requirements.
• Query complex health data sources (EMRs, ECG, DICOM) to map data elements for high-quality analytic datasets.
• Develop descriptive and predictive models to drive evidence generation on Dandelion data.
• Summarize methods and results for internal and external audiences including conferences and publications.
• Support SQL/analytic programming, data management, quality control, and reporting.
• Develop code and documentation for HIPAA-compliant data products delivered on time.
• Create summarized findings and recommendations for varied audiences.
• Identify and resolve data problems with troubleshooting and domain knowledge.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and validity across work.
• Present to senior leadership and external audiences.
