Job summary

Regard is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that turn raw data into actionable metrics and insights for product decisions and research.

You will work with Engineering and Product teams on data models, transformations, and data quality, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across the data stack.

Relocation is available for qualified candidates; this hybrid role requires in-office presence in NYC, LA, or SF on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data models in production
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as PySpark
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (AWS preferred)
• Practical experience with LLM-assisted development and understanding of its capabilities and limitations
• Willingness to participate in on-call operational support for owned systems

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines supporting analytics and research initiatives
• Develop and improve data models and transformations delivering data to downstream consumers
• Partner with engineering teams to resolve data quality issues ensuring datasets are accurate
• Support operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the data platform and pipelines
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to deliver data and insights for business decisions
• Investigate pipeline failures and upstream changes contributing to timely resolutions and improvements
• Help optimize data processing workloads for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
