Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Data Architect at the National Center in Dallas, TX, with the option for home-based work. This full-time, grant-funded role will focus on data architecture, ETL design, and data governance within the Precision Medicine Platform.

With 8+ years in data mapping and ETL for EHR data and images, you will lead integration architecture, data virtualization, and modeling efforts, mentoring ETL staff and guiding researchers with centralized data resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in Data Mapping and ETL with clinical EHR data/images.
• Experience with ODS/Star schema data modeling.
• Integration architecture with EHRs/images.
• Experience with Data Virtualization tools.
• Knowledge of SDLC/agile methodologies.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Fluent in relational DB concepts and flat file processing.

Responsibilities

• Designs integration architectures and data models for EHR data and imaging.
• Sets standards for performance, compliance and data delivery to researchers.
• Maintains data architecture quality and documents improvements.
• Evaluates new data sources and supports data governance and self-service analytics.
• Mentors ETL staff and provides technical training across teams.
• Collaborates with Data Science leadership to align priorities.
