Job summary

Washington State Hospital Association is seeking a Data Analyst to gather requirements, build dashboards, and deliver data-driven insights for members. You will work on data collection, structuring, querying, and dashboarding, and translate analyses into clear communications and actionable recommendations.

The role emphasizes developing visualizations, collaborating with hospitals on product logistics, and delivering content via Tableau Server & Interworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Minimum of one year data analysis experience in a professional setting.
• Proficiency with databases (Snowflake, SQL Server, Redshift, etc.)
• Intermediate SQL (T-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Intermediate visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc.)
• Proficiency with open-source languages (Python, R)
• Experience working with APIs.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis and reporting to support Association staff and members.
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and enhance analysis with insights.
• Develop, prepare, and present specialized reports and dashboards.
• Analyze data for scenarios to reflect solutions for members.
• Interpret data analysis and develop communications for stakeholders.
• Support monthly data collection and data validation with documented processes.
• Develop new dashboards and visualizations for effective data communication.
• Create methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data.
• Efficiently query and structure data for Tableau dashboards.
• Create training materials and conduct data trainings.
• Engage members through targeted communication and training sessions.
• Conduct project reviews to assess quality and compliance.
• Work with customers to understand product specifications.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting.
• Support executive leadership with data analysis and logistics.
• Identify opportunities for performance improvement via data analysis.
• Recommend innovations to improve systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
