TuftsMedicine is seeking a customer service focused professional to support patient referrals and registration processes. The role ensures accurate data collection, verifies insurance coverage, and coordinates with physicians, ambulances, and partners to maintain smooth information flow.

You will handle calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with billing and collection tasks while delivering courteous, solution-oriented service in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service or call center experience in billing, collections, or insurance.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Three years of customer service or call center experience in billing, collections, or insurance.
• Bilingual

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and problem solving when issues arise with housekeeping, transport, or food service requests.
• Answer and analyze requests; coordinate with area staff, supervisor, or other hospital departments.
• Answer calls in the call center and dispatch to the appropriate service staff; provide follow-up.
• Receive and record messages in accordance with guidelines.
• Monitors phone, fax systems, and mail inquiries for resolution; direct mail as needed.
• Assist with referrals and maintain communication between referral sources, patients and the agency.
• Obtain and verify complete patient registration information within 48 hours of appointment.
• Enter treatment authorization numbers in the Siemens system and record referral authorization levels.
• Interact with billing and collection agencies; resolve denials related to insurance issues.
• Provide billing/demographic information to physicians and partners as requested.
• Post patient payments over the phone to appropriate accounts.
• Research self-pay balances and prepare refunds or transfers as required.
