Job summary

Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, WA seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting operations and financial reporting. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, cash management, audits, and regulatory compliance while partnering with leaders across the organization.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, at least five years of progressive accounting leadership, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible accounting leadership experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Healthcare accounting or hospital finance experience preferred.
• Experience with governmental accounting, Medicare Cost Reports, and external audits preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will oversee the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, cash management, audits, regulatory reporting, and financial compliance. The role also supports budgeting, strategic planning, process improvement, and leadership development within the Finance Department.
