Job summary

StoneSprings Hospital Center in Virginia is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage monthly closes, journal entries, and cost reporting for the hospital.

The role leads accounting staff, ensures SOX compliance, and provides financial support to department managers. A Bachelor''s in Accounting or Finance is required, with 3+ years in accounting and 5+ years with supervisory experience preferred in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Master's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• 5+ years accounting experience with supervisory responsibility preferred in healthcare
• CPA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates monthly closes by ensuring all necessary data is submitted timely and accurately
• Trains and supports the accounting staff
• Prepare journal entries per standard JE list for all entities
• Performs and/or assists with special projects
• Assists in preparing cost reporting information for year-end settlement
• Prepare monthly closing entries per CFO-defined closing
• Provide financial information and support to Department Managers
• Oversee daily operations of accountants and accounts payable personnel
• Maintain records per departmental filing and coding system
• Serve as first contact to all hospital departments
• Act as intermediary between accounting and centralized service centers
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly
• Assist in year-end work papers, Medicare cost reports, and other reports
• Assist with SOX requirements to ensure compliance
• Other duties as assigned
