Job summary

The Healthcare Initiative in Colorado is seeking an experienced Controller to join its leadership team and strengthen financial operations at a mission-driven behavioral healthcare organization.

You will manage day-to-day accounting and financial reporting, oversee GAAP, grant accounting, audits and internal controls, partner with Revenue Cycle and organizational leaders, and mentor the accounting and finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 10+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Healthcare organization experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and grant accounting.
• CPA, CMA, CHFP, or CSAF preferred.
• Public accounting, federal awards, and/or Sage experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Oversee GAAP, grant accounting, internal controls, audits, and compliance.
• Work closely with Revenue Cycle to support accurate billing, collections, and reimbursement reporting.
• Partner with organizational leaders on financial decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and financial operations.

A mission-driven behavioral healthcare organization is looking for an experienced Controller to join its leadership team and play an important role in the continued strength and growth of the organization.

This is more than a traditional accounting role. The Controller will have the opportunity to dig into financial operations, strengthen processes and internal controls, and provide leaders with the financial insight they need to make thoughtful decisions. Just as importantly, this person will be a partner across the organization and a leader to the accounting and finance team.

A Few Highlights
