Cornerstone Recruiting seeks an experienced Healthcare Superintendent to lead field operations for complex healthcare construction projects throughout the Richmond, VA market.

The ideal candidate understands working in active healthcare environments, including hospitals, outpatient facilities, labs, and imaging spaces, with a focus on patient safety, infection control, life-safety requirements, and uninterrupted facility operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction with a General Contractor.
• Healthcare construction experience required.
• Renovations in occupied hospitals or healthcare facilities preferred.
• Knowledge of ICRA, life-safety measures, infection control, shutdown coordination.
• Coordinating complex MEP, medical gas, controls, low-voltage systems, and equipment.
• Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing drawings.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day field operations with focus on safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor performance.
• Enforce safety requirements across trades and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
• Manage safety and operational needs in occupied healthcare facilities including infection-control barriers.
• Work with PM to develop and maintain overall construction schedule and phasing.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades including MEP and healthcare equipment systems.
• Lead field coordination of complex systems to ensure proper sequencing and testing.
• Plan and oversee utility shutdowns and high-risk activities with contingency planning.
• Coordinate work around active hospital operations with minimal disruption to patients.
• Maintain field documentation, daily reports, photos, and progress records.
• Review drawings and specs to identify coordination issues early and reduce changes.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, facility reps, inspectors, and authorities to resolve RFIs.
• Manage site logistics, temporary facilities, utilities, and long-lead items.
• Drive quality, punch lists, commissioning, owner training, turnover, and closeout.
• Maintain as-built and closeout docs throughout construction.
