Overview

Our large construction management client that specializes in various industries such as healthcare, sports, education and energy project builds is seeking a permanent Lead Superintendent to join their growing team. This individual can sit out of their Richmond VA, Charlottesville VA, Tampa FL, Orlando FL, Nashville TN, Charlotte NC, or Charleston SC offices. The Lead Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the construction effort on complex, large healthcare projects ($500 Million+) to ensure it is constructed safely in accordance with design, budget and schedule. This individual will directly supervise and mentor the Superintendents assigned to the project/s, collaborates with the project management team, manages the Owner’s expectations, ensures productivity of subcontractors, and provides leadership in complying with applicable project and regulation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads project team with the establishment of the overall project build strategy and work flow and helps document those in site logistics and phasing plans.
• Oversees set-up of baseline project schedule(s) and schedule updates.
• Ensures all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates; supervises, coordinates and sequences subcontractor’s work to minimize interference between various trades and owner activities on large, complex project or multiple projects; maintains labor harmony.
• Oversees and coordinates with each trade holding permits and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure compliance with inspection process and progress is in line with schedule, planning, and commissioning process.
• Assists with development of work scopes and front-end documents for bidding to create clear and concise scopes of work based on full understanding of the contract documents and applicable work rules/jurisdictions.
• Assists with bid process including participation in post-bid interviews and answering bidder questions.
• Partners with Project Executives with management of overall budget and forecasting of usage, by helping to control cost and monitoring potential changes from contractors, including time and materials.
• Manages the installation of the work in the field to the quality standards required for the project.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in healthcare construction industry.
• Experience managing large projects ($500 million + healthcare construction projects).
• Minimum of 6 years of direct supervision experience of project teams.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study is preferred.
• Comfortable with 30% travel throughout the Southeast Region.
• OSHA 30.

Salary Range

$160,000-$200,000 (flexible based on experience)

Locations

Locations Individual Can Sit Out Of: Richmond VA, Charlottesville VA, Tampa FL, Orlando FL, Nashville TN, Charlotte NC, or Charleston SC (30 miles of any of these office locations)

Hours

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Travel

30% travel – traveling to project sites occasionally throughout the Southeast region

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
