Job summary

Abbott Construction LLC. is seeking a Project Engineer in Seattle to support the Project Manager and Superintendent throughout all project phases.

You will manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and assist with budgeting, safety, scheduling, and coordination. The role requires a 4-year construction-related degree, 2+ years of project engineering experience, and a commitment to a long-term construction career, with preferred experience in healthcare construction.

Responsibilities

• Support PM and Supt to meet project goals.
• Manage submittal, RFI, and change order processes.
• Provide research, data entry and legwork as needed by PM/Supt.
• Complete budget revisions in Viewpoint as required.
• Assist to maintain safety in line with company values.
• Support planning, scheduling and coordination to meet deadlines.
• Assist estimating by soliciting subcontractors and distributing plans.
• Be main point of contact for subcontractors as requested by PM.
• Act as Project Manager when PM is unavailable.

Job description

Project Engineer

The Project Engineer (PE) shall support the Project Manager (PM), and Superintendent (Supt) as required for them to meet their goals through all phases of a project.

Primary Duties

• Responsible for managing the submittal process
• Responsible for managing the RFI process
• Responsible for managing the change order proposal process
• Provide research, backup support, legwork, data entry etc. as requested by the PM and Supt
• Complete budget revisions and modifications in Viewpoint as required throughout the job
• Assist to maintain a high level of safety in alignment with Abbott's core values
• Ability to combine knowledge of engineering methods, construction methods and human management skills
• Provide support for planning, scheduling and coordinating projects to meet deadlines
• Offer support to the estimating department by soliciting subcontractors for projects as well as managing and distributing plans
• Be the main point of contact for subcontractors as requested by the Project Manager
• If needed, act as a Project Manager when a Project Manager is unavailable

Required Qualifications

• A focus on following processes and procedures, taking ownership of the role, and not being afraid of difficult conversations and relaying bad news when required

The full salary range for this position is $78,000 to $105,000.This position is eligible for a target bonus
